Pewter Metallic- 2000 Pontiac Trans Am WS6
how normal is piston slap on LS1 engines? well i could have almost died this morning,i went to start the car up after about 3 weeks of just letting it sit in the storage & i thought i heard something unusual, but after i let the engine run for a little while i did not hear nothing out of the ordinary, boy i was about to snap LoL! because i just changed the oil before the 4th of july,i did notice my oil was a little low but not low enough to cause any internal or major damage to the engine, funny thing is i didnt notice any leaks and i triple checked my dipstick after the oil change to make sure the oil was at operating range and everything checked out fine, now where
did that oil go? is there an oil additive or stabilizer i can put in the engine when the car is just sitting? i only drive it like 2 times out of a month

More likely that oil is being sucked out of the rocker covers into the PCV system.
Piston slap is common on these cars and is the result of short skirt pistons and materials that have different expansion rates when heated. Our engine is noisey when I first start it and then quiets down as it warms up. When cold, I always warm our car up to around 140 degrees on the coolant temp before I drive it.

I just put in 0W 30 today, we'll see how it goes. Took it for a drive and noticed a slightly higher oil pressure.

Picked up a transmission temperature gauge from Summit yesterday. Might even have a chance to install it this week.

Set up the wiring for the electric water pump...fyi, it's really hard guessing the length of wiring for an EWP when you have no engine or radiator in the car as reference

They didn't have a bare block on the floor -- just two engines on stands, one with the e-force and another with Trick Flow heads that had cutaways and a Fast 92.

Tested out the SLP Fan control switch and then came back inside as it was too hot outside to run the wire to the inside
