Man, I cant believe I don't have any pics of my A pillar with the gauges. I have every other picture from the valve covers off installing the duel valve springs and cam, to the fuel pump install. But nothing in the damn car. WTF? LOL

I said the same thing...I was like how the hell I didn't take any?
Remember that the suspension needs to be under load in order to install them. A drive on 4 post lift is best however if doing in in the garage you need to put the jack stands under the axle instead of the body.

I plan to have it sitting on four ramps with all the weight on. I do not have access to a drive-on lift anymore, like I did when I installed my ones on the 96.

Been researching free mods and a tune. Lots of "working" hours have been logged the past couple weeks. Nice having two screens so at least one looks productive if someone comes by.
--Edit: since you said I could ask, just for confirmation on my 2001-- I have no EGR so all I need to delete is the AIR system and that only needs the two plates on the stock manifolds and some kinda plug for the hole in the SLP lid?Last edited by hardtrailz; 08-11-2016 at 09:43 AM.

Yes, I would also pull the air pump fuse till your ready to remove it. IIRC it may pop a CEL, you can get it turn off if you know someone with HP Tuners or Have Frost do it on his mail order tunes.

I am getting the code now occasionally and I think it is due to the hose to the SLP lid being really loose in there. I plan to remove the whole thing like I did on the TB and have it tuned out.
Frost seems to have some busy-ness and longer return times than I would like, but reached out to Mike Norris local and chatted with customls1tuning on a mail-order. I plan to remove the AIR codes and rear O2 as well with any tune.
The only HP Tuner connectin I have does not feel comfortable messing with something that is not his personally and has never done anythng but the truck 5.3s.

Frost is the man when it comes to mail order tunes!! He has tuned my pcm twice (I went from a NA motor, to a blown application) with no issues at all. Goes right through emissions and all. Worth the wait IMO.

Also his turn around on a mail order is usually 24 hrs. I've sent him my PCM 3 times over the years to do updates as they happen and never had to wait more than a few days from the day I sent it out..send on a Monday and have it back Friday- Saturday.....USPS FLAT RATE BOX.

Waiting to hear back from Mr. Norris first since he is local, but a week is max i would want the car down. Driving 650 miles per week for work in the truck at half the fuel economy kinda sucks.
Hoping for a chance to "do" something real today that fits this thread and get my subframe connects on tonight. Depends on if the wife has to go in to work or not. On call kinda sucks for me making plans.

Just scheduled the muffler and exhaust tip swap. Wish i could swing the money for headers and full exhaust, but will have to wait. At least Friday it should have a bit more rumble than stock

Why not do it yourself and save the money for headers.
