    With a T56 and 4.11 8.8 rear @ 80mph I see about 2300rpms, in 5th at the same speed it's 3400rpms.

I almost don't need 1st anymore. If or when I hook up nitrous I'm wondering if I should just launch out of 2nd. I really haven't tried anything hard with it yet. Currently on 200 miles of a 500 mile break in. The whole drive train has been upgraded so it's all new. This week was the most miles I've put on it since Nov 2012.

It's lying to you -- should be more like 2-3 mpg at WOT. Hell, I get 8-9 mpg pulling my trailer up and down the hills of Pennsylvania.

I was thinking 8-9 mpg at WOT was generous, my wifes Fusion 2.5l shows 5-6 mpg @ WOT

I'm going to see how quickly I can go through a tank of gas come spring. That'll be a fun test.

It could simply be a limitation in the system as far as what it will display.

Pulling the trailer up the hill to our house the instant mpg in our Suburban will drop to 5 mpg or less. That is going real slow and well into the throttle. At higher speeds, you are covering a mile in a much shorter time period, therefore, even though the engine is consuming much more fuel it takes less time to travel the distance. It might be right, but seemed a bit high to me.

Finished up the oil change this morning and changed the security system settings (finally) so that the horn does not beep when you arm and disarm the system. Been meaning to do that now for about 8 years.

So I went WOT in my 6.0 silverado and it said 2 mpg so I would think the corvette is better or like you said a limitation. I'll check it on the Vette later.

I had always thought my 2000 had a 16gal too. When my fuel light comes on and I fill up, it's never more than 12 gals put in. I know there is a reserve but I wouldn't think that it would be 4 gallons.

A little more done! Removed coil pack, cat, and exhaust manifold! It went amazingly well! No stubborn bolts! Manifold bolts done with 3/8" ratchet, cat nuts with impact gun...no struggles, minimal blood!

50,000 miles, still in great shape!

    Pretty big weight savings!

Easy to get to the plugs!

    And...I can see the floor!

    All driver's side!

Next is motor mount, header and plugs!

My LEDs for the DRLs and side markers came in yesterday so I spent this morning putting new DRL housings in. Replaced the socket on the passenger side and put the LEDs in with the new flasher. Took longer then I wanted but 1 nosy neighbor and a the screws in the housing being stubborn during removal makes for annoying times. Looks so much better and the LEDs are a lot brighter makes the old fog lamp lights look terrible. Guess that and the rear tail lamps will be next on the list of lights to replace. I got switchback LEDs so during the day they are amber but at night with the lights on they turn white but turn back to amber when the turn signals are on. Have to get some pics later this week when the rain moves back out.

Motor mount, plugs and header are in on driver's side!

    Old one wasn't too bad!

    Pieces!

Used a Dremel brush to clean old bonded rubber from clamshell and Endura grease to seat new poly mount!

    I even bled a little!

Not a great pic, but it's all I got for now!

Hopefully get coil pack back in tomorrow!
Passenger side will be the next challenge!
