Mine was flawless as well until this past spring when I thought I was going to be cool and stick a tune trapper antenna under it. Broke it all to hell taking it apart. Picked up one of the coverlay dash pads but haven't had the time to install it yet but they look pretty decent from pics I've seen.

Odd, Camaro's must be different than TransAm's...I have had one installed for 5 years on my M6 and have zero issues with it.

I have a UMI tq arm on my TA, it connects up on the UMI trans mounted x member. I used to have a ton of clunking when I had the Tunnel mount torque arm from UMI and come to find out that with my 9" axle it moved the Tq arm forward almost an inch so when it met up with the bolting point of the tunnel mount it was to long and all the way forward so when ever I would stop or go it would slap the forward of the mount pretty bad. After that I put the trans mounted one on there with a poly bushing on the trans and adjusted my driveshaft angle to where it looked slightly below level and it was good to go, no more noise at all.

I also had to put it on the highest mounting point for the trans mounted x-member to because it was coming fairly close to my exhaust. But with all that being said I have had no issues with the tq arm hitting anywhere in the tunnel.

My tunnel mount is pretty noisy transitioning from stop to go. Other than that, no complaints as it plants the ass end on launch wonderfully.

This is my biggest issue with the tunnel mount version though, is how low it hangs on a stock height car, the short amount of time i used it, it pretty much hit everything in the road, if it was dropped an inch I would be scared to drive the thing lol. needless to say that torque arm and tunnel brace are free to a good home lol.

I finally changed my stock 2.73 to a Performance Motive Gear 3.73 last weekend.
Decided to do it myself. I wasn't sure at first but everything went very smooth. Was a wee bit of a mess but...I also found out that I had a "locker" diff. No limited slip fluid needed. Took my diff to a buddy because I had a few questions and that's what he told me.
I had the PCM Frost Tuned and set up for the new gear over a month ago and we needed to get it done. Speedo was off about 15-17mph. Never thought it would have been that easy. I guess the thought of paying close to $400.00 in labor wasn't in my budget. I also took care of a few misc. jobs as well. Small stuff I had my list of "things to do". Sway Bars next!!

Yes I took a wire wheel and cleaned-up the hub before I put the wheels back on

Dave, I hope you set the back lash, and preload on the pinion and tested the wear pattern with marking compund! All that is VERY important if you want your gears to last. The last gear change I did was on my '85 Z28... I will never do one myself again!

Since I didn't do anything cool to either of our 'birds, here's a glamour shot of the messy storage bin.

That was part of my concern when I had a buddy take a look at it. All seems fine. No howls, whines, or any other noises coming from the rear end.

Pulled the spoiler and painted it to match the sail panel that I did recently.
