    Update: No race as of yet!! he blew his rearend out and shortly after he replaced it he blew up his transmission!! So now he has a jasper rearend(spent $2000 and didnt even get a posi!!) and what he says is a new jasper transmission! So hopefully I can get him to the rack on Oct. 9th!! Ill let yall know!!

    Btw Im running on better tires and wheels: Zo6 18x9.5s up front and 19x11s out back!!

    Where are you getting 3800 out of this thread I'm lost now the op has a z28 and the race is going to be against a truck with a 5.3 I didn't see one mention about a v6 unless I missed something

    Actually, you went backwards. You'd be better off with 16's or 17's on Drag Radials out back than what you've got on there now. Your '60 time might very well disappoint you.

    Exactly, bigger wheels are horrible for drag racing, they are lacking sidewall, plus those wheels are alot heavier than the wheels you pulled off, so you just added recipricating weight to the car. They will actually slow you down a tenth or so.

    with the factory 16s idlight them up if i hit the gas to hard and now i really have to get on it to spin them!

    The two key words in my post to you were, Drag Radials along with the smaller diameter rims.

    Could it be that it's harder to spin them over is because of the above mentioned by FBJ(more rotating weight, etc etc)?

    You went backwards.

    That's because they are heavier and harder to turn over, now you need more power

    Yes they are a little heavier than stock rims but I think its because I went from roughly 17" of total rubber contact to 22" of rubber contact!! And yes more power is in the works!!
