32 valve heads
I have been hounding Arao Engineering with emails to find out if they have plans to build 32 valve heads for the ls1. They finally answered. Russ Arao does not have an exact date yet but estimates are around a year. Can you imagine 32 valve heads on the ls1. It will be a damn monster.http://www.araoengineering.com

it is about damn time. It should be that hard to do. Use roller style timing chains beteween the two cams on the head with two cams in it.

Keep an eye on Barry Grant too. They made a 3 valve cylinder head for the chevy 350. The Gen III/IV is certainly popular enough to warrant its own.

That is too much technology. Hell if you wanted that buy a Mustang or an import. Takes the fun out of it. But to each his own.

Exactly. Don't get me wrong, I think they'd be hella-coo. But other than the bragging rights (dude, I got 32 valves and you don't), one could probably make more power for a lot less $$$.

This looks like another one of those... Going to cost to much because of R&D to gain too little HP&TQ

This comes dangerously close to bashin teh ZR1-LT5!
Mercuiser made one of the most reliable and advanced Hi Po engines for the early 90's. I'm a fan of that design. Just wast financially feasible to keep going i guess.

Yeah, I guess if you have $10,000 to put into cylinder heads, you could really make a lot of power with just 346 cubic inches...
But back here in the real world, there is a ton of power to be made with existing two valve heads and maybe more displacement for less than 1/2 the cost. There are so many more people out there modifying small block chevys than the LS1, the heads have to be priced more expensive to recoup some of the costs.

As long as people can make great power with the existing head design (2V), there will be no market for 4V heads. Well, not a profitable market, anyway. It is like the FR500 pieces Ford was selling for the 4V Cobra motors, way too expensive for the modest power gains. Why by a 2500 dollar magnesium intake that makes 15 hp, when you can buy a 4500 dollar supercharger and make 150? Why buy a 5000 dollar (estimate) set of 4V heads, when you can make almost as much power with a 2500 dollar set, without all the fab and labor? Well, if you got money to blow, then by all means, pay for those bragging rights, but don't be upset when an AFR headed, cammed LS1 leaves you in the dust.
