new mustang
so, just raced a new mustang on the way home. matched him for about 1 mile before he went. we finally went from about a 50 roll, he jumped about a car ahead, he hit it first, i nailed it and promptly flew by him. it took about 80 yards from when he nailed it for me to pass him. im hoping he let off, cause when i came by i rolled by, about a 20 mph difference. i had the cutout open so i could not hear his car at all.
all i have is full exhaust.

Wow...good job. They are no slouches, even bone stock. 3.73 gears, under-rated @ 412HP...pretty damn quick. I posted a few months ago when I ran into one with my 99. I did not have any luck with him. He pulled on me, but did have the jump and caught me between gears. I didn't bother taking it above 70 at the time, still not sure I would have passed him though.
Good kill.1999 WS6 - Black - 414rwhp 401rwtq w/o NOS

Well traction is a problem for a lot of cars, but the OP quotes this race as being on a roll, not out of the hole.
He only has full exhaust versus a car that is coming out of the box with around 100 more HP then his 2000 T/A, yet he runs over the Mustang basically.
I said good kill, because having substantially more then "full exhaust" in my 99T/A and not walk away form a 5.0, he did a great job..
As for REDNECK, I too am from "the south", and I too own a Mustang. I've had both actually since the 70's.
This is not the place to come and trash talk what we believe to be, great cars. I think the Mustang is a great car, and I KNOW the f-body cars are as well.
There will always be a war between the Camaro/Firebird versus the Mustang and we all know that. Just repspect our "family" here and save the trash talking for somewhere else please.
I have defended the Mustang here in the past, but I refuse to degrade myself by coming on a GM site saying crap like the new 5.0 is whoopin the Camaros butt.
I ask nicely for you to reconsider what you post next time you decide to let you fingers do the walking on this forum...PLEASE?

It says right in his comments that its a stock SS and by listening to the video he doesn't even have an exhaust on it. most of the V8 noise is coming from the trailblazer they are using to chase with.

Nice kill. I like the new body style Mustangs, and now they have a good engine for '11.

We have had many camaro vs the new 2011 stangs threads go to crap. Some are new since we had the issues. This is a LS1.com.. We enjoy all makes and models here. But do understand this is a GM based site. Having said that 2011 stang talk can get you thread banned, infractions and even thread locks. FYI..

^^^confused.
So the policy is if anybody talks about a fun-to-drive V8 RWD car, (especially Mustangs) they could be thread banned, suffer an infraction or thread locked?

If the talk turns to trash or bashing yes sir. I can count 20+ threads that have been locked on the 2011 mustang topic. This thread has trash talk and bashing in it hence the warning. Notice I said "We enjoy all makes and models here".. We have Ford,Dodge,Import owners etc on here... We welcome all and talk about all.. We do not welcome trash/bash talk.
