just driving around

Hey this is a good one. I was driving my ls1 powered truck it was a a4 trans then my truck is a stepside reg cab and I had my 2002 raptor in the back of the truck! on a 4 lane road passed a lt1 6 speed firebird was just running about 70 went around him and got in front of him. Here he came wide open ran up beside me passed me then slowed down beside me rolled down his window and pointed at the road I responded and we took off from about 55 mph I pulled away from him hard when my speed o buryed the 100 mark I backed off he was about 5 truck lenths behind me. He folowed me when I turned off and we pulled into a gas station. He got out and said what do you have in that thing I told him ls1 he said no wonder let me see it. I poped the hood he said no wonder you beat me. I said yea and I had my 4 wheeler in the back!!

nice kill, did you do the swap? and is it the 4l60 in it ?

Yes I done it all my self. I used all street & performance parts pully setup and wireing harness. The trans was a 4l60e with a tci pro race rebuild a transgo shift kit and a vigalate converter. I busted the tail shaft and bend the main output shaft when I broke a drive shaft so I went to a 6 speed. And haven't drove it scine. Been 4 years now

Nice my buddy has an ext. cab 95 chev 2500 lifted 4inches and he wants a ls1 one in his.
How did the swap go and if you dont mind me asking about how much did it cost you?

I have found some places to get stuff cheap now. But when I frist put mine in I spent 7000 including the motor which I got realy cheep because they thought it was a lt1 3000 is what I paid 4 motor and trans. Like I said cheep. The rest is puting it in. Street&p know there stuff but like I said not cheap. Now if u go with mast or painless comp & wireinharnes 600 to 1000 then motor mounts 70 and meet this guy have his card some where his pully setup is nice and cheapest I have seen 800 then all you need is motor & trans could use the trans he has 2 save money. There u go like I said not cheap but my truck runs awsome and I got 20 mpg with auto trans.
