    Angry Damnit! not again

Well, Im out strolling I-35 today and I see a black TA in the left lane and a red GTO in the right lane behind me.

SO, I slow down seeing if anyone wants any. The TA rolls off slow, the GTO comes up, gives me the nod, and I wait for him to punch it. So i go from 6th to 4th, and would have had him easily. But, alas, bitch went into second again. smoked the tires, trac control kicks in, I hit over to 4th and hang, but hes already 60' in front.

This happened to me a year ago, and now i have some noise from the top end, but still runs fine. I know the tranny needs a rebuild, but are the forks loose? linkage loose? Its gotten sloppier through the years, and has 96k on it now.

I had a buddy that did the exact same thing, ended up bending a pushrod, replaced the push rod and no more ticking. Not saying thats your issue but its something to look at.

That's one thing the rev limiter will not save you on. Downshifting and mechanically forcing the engine to rev past redline. Bad things happen.

I know.... ive raced this thing to hell and back. Its got a few other issues that are getting progressively worse.

Wont go into 5th from 6th. Wont go into 5th if im under 45mph. Clutch sticks(LS7 clutch, pressure plate and master/slave) Just havent taken the time to drill mod it yet.

    its just time....and money...

Agree 100% That's why I always tack it (spike the gas) before a hard down shift (sometimes you have to be very fast and/or be able to use 3 peddles @ once) .. Easier on mechanicals if your rpms are already up when you engage a lower gear..

I've had two T56 WS6s, and in both, ON INTERSTATE ON RAMPS, I've gone WOT from 3rd back to second. Both times, going sky high on revs, btoh times, rear locking up for a sec, both times, car shaking violently upon engagement for a split second. The first car shut off. The second car stayed running. Both continued down the road fine

    In any event.....................
