Horrible Viper
Okay I just got my car fixed and all and I've been dying for a race. I was driving on rt.100 and I see this Viper in front of me so I hurried up and got on his ass. Got infront of a group of cars and finally slowed down and i could tell he was game for a race.
We were off from about a 30-120 roll, he totally distroyed me when he wasnt shifting. but i swear it took about a year and a half for him to shift, dont know if he was trying to be friendly and let me catch up but he was a cool guy none the less.
Man I missed racing

Vipers have very long gears, its like a t-56 6 speed f-body with a 3.07 final drive compared to our 3.42. He could have also just been messing with you lol

What color was it?
There is a red one that I've seen in Laurel twice now. I want to race him, but I've been in my GTP both time

long shifts like he was in one gear for along time....or he took his sweet time shifting after pushing the clutch in.
if it was #2 he probably did not want to abuse the transmission..we all know how awesome dodge tranny's are.

There aren't a large amount of differences between a Viper T56 and an F body T56. The main differences are a bit larger input shaft bearing and a longer tailshaft housing. Internally however, the transmission is almost identical except a few pieces are made with more durable parts due to the higher stresses of a V10 engine. The shift fork is cast iron, as opposed to the F body's aluminum fork. The syncros are all the same, but the sliders are made of better material. It isn't entirely difficult to use these most of these Viper components in your T56. Many are direct replacement or fit.

Um,,,the output shaft bearing is larger because the output shaft is twice the size of the Fbody T56 Takes a completely different tailshaft housing to accomodate it. Viper output shaft is similar in size to a 400 turbo,,,,where as the Fbody output shaft is the size of a 350 turbo, and they do snap if you are hard on it.
Can't just toss the viper output shaft into the Fbody T56 without changing or heavily modifying the tailshaft housing.
