Finally got one...

Took Nymphadora out for a test drive last night to see if I fixed the oil leak that I've been battling for weeks (oil leak still present, but that's not the point). I left the neighborhood and cruised down Route 197, made a U-turn at Route 198 to head back to my house. I got stopped at the light a mile from my house. As I'm sitting there a new Mustang 5.0 pulls up next to me with this young kid driving (I know I'm not old, but whatever) and an "ok" looking girl ridding shotgun.

He revs at me, and I rev back. Light turns green and we both spin out of the light. He gets traction first and pulls half a car ahead. I then get traction and immediately start reeling him in. By the time we reach 90, I'm easily a car ahead of him. I take the left into my neighborhood and he follows me to my house. We talked for awhile about the cars and showed each other our engine bays. I really wasn't impressed by the 5.0's engine, looks nothing out of the ordinary. He kinda avoided talking about my car, but he was clearly impressed. He then asked to drive Nymphadora (). I couldn't help but laugh. He tried to say that he could handle the power. He eventually settled for a ride. He was all smiles as I got sideways leaving my neighborhood.

His gf wasn't happy to be left a strangers house while we went out for a 5 minute drive. When we got back, she was pissed and made him leave right away. Cool kid...never did find out how he got his hands on a new 5.0...parents probably

If you're making 445 to the rear wheel and you were only one car ahead of him by 90, that's kinda scary. His car will probably rape anything less than 400rwhp. That little 5.0 looks awfully stout all of a sudden.

traction is a big issue here. i have 430rwhp and 428rwtq and i dont get any traction until 3rd gear on street tires. not sure what kind of tires LS1Camino has but im sure that 5.0 hooked up alot earlier then he did. BTW awesome kill!!

the 5.0 encounter i had i murdered that poor thing. i mean it did keep up well compared to what i was thinking i made 388 at the time.

All the guys around here, not pro drivers, havent been able to break a 13.4-13.2 on street tires at the track yet. My car runs that headers and exhaust with a ls1 intake still on it.

Yeah, traction really killed me in that race. I want a good roll race with one. I think that's where my car shines the best. I beat an newer M5 a few weeks ago from 60 to 140ish, so I know she's got the power where it counts.

At the moment, I'm running my 275 wide Kumho Ecstas...very poor gripping tire...even when I was stock, I would spin them through first. I'm still working on getting my 335s to fit right. I thought I had it worked out, then I went sliding around a corner (controlled ) and the tire rubbed the frame A LOT.

275's are good tires ..just not good enough to keep your ponies under control lol

great kill though...made me giggle when the kid asked to drive your car... that would be my response.
