    ws6 springs & shocks

I have a chance to buy a complete set of w6s springs & shocks for my 4th gen transam. Will these improve the cars handling or should I stick with the stock setup I have. Thanks.

Stranos and Konis > WS6 springs and shocks

If they are used I would probably pass. New in the box and not a bad price, then may be somewhat better than you already have.

    Shocks aren't any different.
    Pure shit either way.

If I am not mistaken, the springs are very close to identical.

Not to hijack the thread for my own use too much here, but, I have had 2 factory shocks fail on the passenger rear side in the 2 years I've owned my WS6. How do the bilstein's perform and hold up? My pickup (ZR2) came factory with bilstein's and at 200k they were just as good as new, does this carry over to our T/A's as well?

Depends on the year. Around Nov '99, the '00 WS6s began to receive the same springs as the standard T/A. Prior to that, WS6s got stiffer springs. I think the rears were the same as what 1LEs got.

Unfortunately budget limitations force me to look for economical alternatives, yes I would love bilsteins, brembo brakes, and the best of everything, but I must try to make the car as good as I can in my budget. The ws6 springs & shocks I've found are new in the box and priced at just $25. I figure they got to be better then the 15 year old stuff on the car with 138,000 miles on them. They are for a 00 model. I also picked up the newer brake setup from the same person with all needed parts included. Will rebuild calipers and replace hoses.
