    Swapping LsX into 94 transam

    Just a thought to wonder about....

    I have my silverado which is currently awaiting a new transmission....

    Apparently, the factory 4l60E does not like it when you push around 475-500 horsepower through it.

    But, on to the question...
    I also have a 94 trans am with a rebuilt LT1 in it, and a T56 tranny.

    Would it be worth swapping the blown LR4 into the transam?

    What parts would be needed?

    new moter mounts?
    What would it take to mate the LR4 to the T56 besides a clutch that can handle 500hp. Can the t56 handle that much power? Would that much power kill the driveshaft and rear end?


    Just a thought.

    Whats an LR4?....ok I just googled it. Its a 4.8 V8
    The LT1 T56 is a little different to the LS style T56 so there will be some compatibility issues there

    I know several people (4 off of my head) that put LS1s into LT1 f bodies. Personally I really like the LT1 body style and putting LS1s in em is even cooler. One of these guys is on this board. I'd shoot him a pm or maybe he'll chime in. His user name is That Guy 2-1.

    If i was able to get the parts to pull it off, that t/a would haul some serious ass. Its already quick as hell....

    Just think, if the lr4 in my truck can pin your ass in the seat at 95, just think what would happen with half the weight, and much better gear ratios.
