I got on the gas a little bit in both these cars. They are QUICK!! Way too quiet though. Just thought I'd share...and brag a bit

I don't think thats too horrible for the 6.2L S/C LSA. I'd rather have a C6Z06 but thats a whole other argument/ball game

Sounds neat and all, but I'll stick to what I have. You have to remember, you are talking to a guy that still drives cars with manual drum brakes and manual steering. I don't want to spoil myself

Nice!!! I would love to take one of those for a spin! The tests I've seen have them running low 12s in the 1/4, and about 4 seconds to 60. Basically the same times as I've seen for a new Corvette, if not a bit better. Definitely not bad for a full-weight luxury four-door. I still think I'd rather run an LS7 2004-2007 V for the light weight AND the 500+ horsepower, but for a factory luxury performance sedan, it can't be beat, especially for the price.

Sounds pretty sweet hook us up with a clip when you're done, if you can. A dyno vid would be preferred, that way we can see AND hear the benefits of the mods.

My friend's '74 Nova has 4 wheel drum brakes, no power assist. You just can't make stopping a priority I guess!! Its pretty bad. I keep telling him to get one of the kits to upgrade it to at least front power discs.

As for driving the CTS-V, I'm jealous!! Sounds like an awesome machine for sure. Too bad there are so many autos though, I'd definitely prefer the 6 speed manual version. Did either of the ones you drove have the optional package with the red Brembo calipers?? I don't think I've seen one with that package as of yet.

If he doesn't want to spend money on a good disc setup, send him over to Muscle Car Brakes or Master Power Brakes.
They have upgraded drums and shoes along with bigger wheel cylinders that stop 10 times better than the factory issue drum stuff.
I've done those conversions for several customers (as well as my own cars) for those that didn't want to spend the money on disc. The response has always been excellent, with a night and day difference from the stock drum setup.

Nope I've never seen or heard of that. A quick google search shows that as the competition brakes option (J63) and was only available in 2009, but may be available as a GM Accessory package you can order through the dealership parts department.
