2nd round K.O.
A while back I posted about beating my buddies 69 fairlane. Everyone said it was so fast and everything, I was bone stock at the time and walked him. He had a 306 with 4.56 gears and the car is all set up for the 1/8 mile. Anyway he dropped like 6 grand into a new 347 stroker and I have since spent a little on my car (see sig.) He just wanted a rematch so badly, I guess he likes punishment.
I really didn't know how it was going to go but we both got good launches and were dead even, I thought he started to pull on me for a second but once I got to the top of 1st and then hit second, it was the same old story. Should have bet more than lunch on it!Junkyard bought and "refurbished" 2002 Camaro Z28 - Pacetter Race LT's, TS&P ORY, Frost tune, Magnaflow, Ported TB, SLP Lid, Circle D 3000, 3.73's, SFC's.
2009 Silverado Z71 - Magnaflow
2008 Impala LTZ - Wife didn't want the V8 SS!

Pretty sad he spent $6k and still couldn't keep up. He spent his money poorly.

Nice Kill. It's funny how someone who has a car from the late '60s think it will always be "so fast" especially with "go fast stuff". Those cars were overrated. I had a 1967 GTO with a 428 engine, it ran 13.6s @ 104 MPH. I also had a 1967 400 4-speed Firebird for 11 years, it was .030" over making it a 406 engine. I changed a bunch of things, like camshafts, roller rocker arms, distributors, headers, exhaust, intakes, made the hood a functional CAI, and it ran a best of 13.17 @ 105.7. I sold that car in 2000 to buy a 1998 Trans Am, it ran 13.60s @ ~102. The current WS6 runs 13.0-13.2s (best of 12.89 @ 109.85) and I get ~27 MPG highway. The old Pontiacs would get 9 MPG city, 11 highway. I still have a '68 LeMans, it's a convertible that will do the 1/4 in about 17.0 flat!

Yeah, I agree with all of you. He ran his over a scale and it was around 3500 lbs. We have to be very close to the same weight and he has 4.56 gears to my 2.73's. Don't have a clue what either of us are putting to the wheels but he just can't keep up.
