    water pump gasket help

    Does anyone have a trick to remove the original gaskets from the water pump. these things act like they are epoxyed on. the razor blade cannot remove the paper without scratching the aluminum. the replacement gaskets i bought are basically o-rings on a metal frame, like all the other gaskets on the block. it took me hours to remove the side stuck to block. thanks for any help in advance.

    And this is the best gasket scraper on the market today.


    Razor blades are for opening boxes not scraping gaskets...as you found out.

    yup that gasket remover really loosens it up. can find it at your auto parts store.
