You are correct in your statement, but they are two different designations. That's like saying my GTP has a "L36 with a Supercharger", when it really has a L76. The block and MAYBE the heads of the LSA are the same as the LS3, but the pistons are different (lower compression to compensate for the boost), and the rods and crank are definitely forged in the LSA if they aren't already in the LS3. Same goes for the LS9...it's an LS9, not a "Supercharged LS3".

Very correct, and the ls9 and lsa have differences aswell, they are not the same s/c 6.2 liter. The ls9 has forged internals and titanium valves. They all have different internals

ls3- forged crank, nonforged rods and pistons, higher comp ratio
lsa- forged crank, forged powder rods, hypereutectic pistons
ls9- forged crank, titanium rods, forged pistons, titanium valves

yep, it ended up the G8 ST (sport truck). Ugh, why do we have to rely on Holden for badass cars (besides the Vette)? America can't come up with fast good looking cars anymore I guess

Because in America GM is struggling, and performance cars will not make a company but they can brake it if you spend too much on development and then only sell a few thousand to enthusiasts. They spent too much money and time on the camaro and most people dont like the car overall.

So your dad bought a 2010 ss then sold it to you then you sold it? Somewhere along the way somebody lost some money on that deal.

I'm not saying you cant sell a camaro but its not gonna be GMs money maker at all. They put too much money and time into that car and wont get the response they hoped for. IMO I still love the ls series engine but now that they are in cars that can be tracked/traced/controlled by someone else I will never own a new GM product again. GM is just another government tool now

I heard a rumor, not sure if it's true or not but how GM is planning on paying back it's stimulus loan..or should I say GM is going try to buy itself back from the gov. This was rumored to take place this summer. but don't quote me on it.

I believe they are supposed to pay it back, as are the banks that got stimulus money. I work for a bank and we were 1 of the first 10 banks to pay that money back. Then again our bank didn't need the money like GM did as we have had record profits and grow in the past 3 years. Once our government gets its hands in something its hard to get the control back even more so with this new presidency that believe strongly in government control, but even if GM does move away from the government they will still have the tech to control, monitor and track your car.

Personally, I think they body styles coming from Holden are vastly superior to what GM is giving us in the states. I mean, that Maloo is just the definition of bad ass.

I agree, its pretty sad that Australia builds better American cars than America. And on the LSA subject i think vxr has its own motor that uses a different supercharger than the LSA/LS9
