Ive driven the 350Z on several occasions, although its pretty quick in 1st and second gear once you get into 3rd gear its no chance against a LS1 car at all. It falls on its face and doesnt pull well enough to hang. The 350Z has about 235-245 RWHP tops if bone stock and the Camaro Z28 A4 should be about 280-300 bone stock give or take a bit for both. I would agree if it was from a start or really low MPH the 350Z might hang but it will get pulled quickly once it gets into its 3rd gear and above, even so i still think a A4 should take off fairly clean even from a start then what i can do with my M6 Z. On a A4 car its really critical with what MPH you smash the gas from my own experiences in the past it makes a huge difference what gear the A4 downshifts to when you race. Either way i think for what it is the 350Z does really well in sales atleast in my area since i see so many of them, although i would never buy one it doesnt mean its a bad car but for my money the LS1 or even a LT1 is my choice.

Zinergy, i understand about the 1/4 mile being at 102-105mph. Ive raced many cars at LACR when it use to be open beating me in the 1/4 mile and thinking damn that car is faster then mine. Then when im driving home on the open highway racing the same car and pulling on it myself very easy in some cases. There are alot of factors that come into play in any race wether its the 1/4mile or on the highway. I can just speak from my own experience that the 350Z doesnt pull no were near as well once you get into 3rd gear and above. Its not a slight difference its very noticable. Also a 350Z is not much faster stock to stock against a S2000 and ive had MANY S2K owners tell me how there going to rip me a new one because there car is hella fast and ive driven S2K's as well. So why a 350Z would win out a LS1 stock to stock beats me many factors come into play that make it difficult to get an exact answer. Just want to point out im not arguing at all with you i think it is a GREAT car and it can run those numbers you stated.

what you are failing to see here is ricer math. common sense and actual races have no place here.
for example, you take low altitude, cool temp track times from car A, and compare them to high altitude, hot temp times from car B. that way 1+1=3 and the ricers make themselves happy.

Lol i go off of our local track mostly, 600 feet above sea level and its Wisconsin so some days are hot and humid and others are not. But i have seen and driven a stock 350z that trapped 103mph in summer and i have seen ls1 cars trap 101-105mph at the very same track.
Im not in anyway saying a 350z should take a ls1 car i na drag race, i know the ls1 car is faster and so do most 350z owners but they arent that far apart. The 350z is faster than a s2k

so you've seen a 350z pull off a very best of 103. if my ls1 fbody only ran 103 i would be pissed.
so you have a car that might 103mph--- maybe even 105 if you have a tail wind and a negative DA. but that's where ls1's trap 106-109 mph
i'm sorry, but 350z's are lame. they are not as fast an ls1 no matter how much ricer math you put into it. like previously put-- they are quick 0-60 then fall on their face.
