I used to own a 1997 Z28...purchased for $2000 in 2009, spent a year restoring it to former glory, and sold it in 2011. Currently have a 2007 Silver CTS-V that I am loving. Any V's from Tennessee?

I've had a 97, 98, and 99 trans am as well as a 98 z28 and there is no question my 07 v would eat them for breakfast. And I'm also in TN, Nashville area.

I'm looking forward to adding a 'V' to my household. Time for me to have a 'haul-ass' 4-door car that I would want to turn into my daily driver. About the only thing on which I am still undecided is whether to get a manual or automatic transmission.

Well if its an 04-07 CTS-V, then the decision is already made for you. They only came as 6 speed manuals. If you considering an STS-V (06-09) they only came as automatics.
But if you looking for a 09-2013...and early 2014s CTS-V (supercharged 6.2 V8) then you have a choice of manual or automatic. You also have a choice of 2 door coupe, 4 door sedan, and 4 door wagon.
And then there is the new 2014 CTS Vsport, which is the new body style CTS with a twin turbo V6. You can only get that with an 8 speed automatic
