HELP cam swap need help
Ok so I'm swaping my cam and we droped a cam bolt in the oil pan. We tryed fishing it out with a magnet, didn't work. So what next? We think we have to drop the k member to take the oil pan out. What all do we have to do for that? Thanks in advance.

Did you try a telescoping magnet ?

If you do drop the pan, you have to hang the motor, pull the motor mount bolts, unhook the one steering joint, then 6 bolts on the k-member to lower it down. The front shocks will hold it about 6" lower, which is enough to get the pan bolts.
If you go to all that, might want to replace the O-ring on the oil pump pick-up tube...

Have access to a bore scope ? That would be real handy.

It's not really that bad to lower it... 1/2" impact gun, & I think they're 18mm bolts...
I've dropped mine a few times, for a damaged reluctor ring...
I suspended my motor with a steel bar, on wooden blocks, across the shock towers, jacked the motor, then hung it with a chain to hold it up.

I'd keep fishing for a while. Drain the oil too. Find a small magnet and attach it to a bendable wire or something...

they make a bendable magnet tool thats plenty long to fish it out. chase a tool truck down monday. if that dont work leave it be and get another bolt, its not gonna cause any problems.

dont worry their no where for it to go, the oil pick up has a strainer on it and the crank dont touch the oil in the oil pan it like a dry sump , the drain plug have a magnic on the end of it , so it will get ti out later
