    Its not your momma's V6

Okay I was driving down the road and seen a buddy of mine. I had not seen him in years. He was filling up at the gas station so i pulled up next to him with my T/A. He was rolling in a prelude. He had his girl, her friend, plus the suv next to him full of his buddies. lol Then it happened. Out of nowhere he says "I can take you........". My thoughts exactly. (ARE YOU CRAZY BRO) lol He says "I got a V-Tech and you got a firebird 3.8". lol What a joke i held back from totally making him look dumb, by telling him its Lt1. Well i held back until a couple miles down the road when he found out himself. So we left the station and headed for the highway. I got my fiance, and her friend in the car when the prelude rolls by an turns on his slowglow. (underglow) First run i play along with his idea of the 3.8. I gave him the run. I pulled up next to him, opened the cut out, and we punched it. I put 8 cars on him as fast as he had opened his mouth at the station. I got out of it alittle after the devastating blow. Surprise...Surprise he realized its a V8. His friends laughing at him while riding around like a try ricer with the slow glow; maybe, was the funniest thing of the night lol. Well started to head to sharp shooters the original plan of the night. What happened next was not a surprise.............. THE RICER FLY BY........... Not a good kill but a funny one at that. Ill add this ricer to the wall of kills Beings he didnt know a-thing about American muscle.

Depending on what year and what engine the prelude woulda owned the 3.8L. A 1997 Prelude would have the H22 putting out 200 horses and weighs nothing. Not to mention worse from the 1993 Prelude VTEC.

Preludes are heavy cars. They weigh over 3000lbs. stock. They do decent for their size and power output, but they are anything but light in the import world. They are a fat bastard away from F-body curb weight.

AHHHH NO. The prelude weighed 3klbs and ran mid to high 14s stock. Alot of stock 3.8 bird and camaros have been into 14s. It might have been a good race if he was a 3.8 but def not a blow out by eitehr side.

    Production: 1997-2001
    Engine(s): H22A
    Transmission(s): 4-speed automatic, 5-speed manual
    Wheelbase: 101.8 in (2586 mm)
    Length: 178 in (4521 mm)
    Width: 69 in (1753 mm)
    Height: 51.8 in (1316 mm)
    Curb weight: 3,042 lb (1,380 kg) (5M)
Fuel capacity: 15.9 US gallons (60.2 L; 13.2 imp gal)

The 5 speed base model Prelude with the H22A weighed over 3000lbs., the Type-SH model came fully loaded with more nannies and Active Torque Transfer System. This weighed over 3100lbs., the automatic cars weighed a bit more. They are pigs.

However... I'm not sure which generation he raced. The last 2 generations were quite heavy.

The last two generations werent quite heavy. Only the SH is BARELY over 3k. My last car was a Prelude SH. Regardless I would put my money on the H22 Preludes over any V6 camaro and mustang. And of course I read it was the LT1. Only V6 camaro that would own the I4 H22 Preludes is the 2010.

Why? I have many friends with h22 preludes and they are not fast. Alot of people have trouble getting them out of the 15s but a good driver can do 14.6-14.8. I have seen stock 3.8liter f-bodys run 14.7-15.0.

Yeah, I have seen a 3.8 v6 firebird run 14.9 stock except for better tires. I have to say driver's race on this one.

my old v6 firebird did a 13.8 in the 1/4 with a 50 shot. after headers and 100 shot it would have been in the 12's - not too bad for a lil v6 eh?

100 shot and headers is putting a v6 camaro in the 12's? Bullshit. Theres no way in hell that would happen. Highly doubt you just had a 50 shot on a v6 running a 13.8. Also why are people arguing over two slow ass cars regardless. Makes no sense.

Why not, my 89 240sx with the twin cam KA 4 cylinder and 5 speed manual trans with a 75 shot was running a 13.7 with no other mods, stock exhaust and intake and everything.

lol.... funny that this thread should come up. I myself am nothin but a pro when it comes to H22s. i can sit here all day tellin u guys. ok here's the catch about prelude motors (the H-series). pretty much all usdm h22a's (h22a1, h22a4) are junkkk, no matter what year their made. the jdm 94+ h22 (h22a) is a beast. like 10more hp and 7more trq, some jdm h22s run better than others. why i dont know. then u got the h22a type-s, which makes 225hp stock.

my hatch wit a jdm h22 swap, bolt-ons, and a bad tune ran 13.4s until the tranny took a shit on me. to sum things up, i would say that for the most part a H22 anything, should be able to beat a v6 camaro or mustang. (EXCEPT FOR THE 2010s). but any v8 car, i could maybe see a jdm swapped civic beating a stock auto lt1. but any other v8, no way.

Needed a swap + bolt on and a tune to run 13.4? That is pathetic. hondas are built for getting good gas mileage and getting groceries. This thread in general is getting pretty funny. Arguing over a bunch of slow cars....
