    Baked another mustang

Out for a Saturday cruise, Just happens big car show here this weekend and some bitchin hot rods all over the place. I end up behind a late 80"s 5.0 Capri. Don't usually give them much attention butt this one was sporting racing slicks out back and skinnies up front and still waving his track # on the windows. I pass buy and give him a knods up and he pulls in right behind me. I get to the light butt there no room for him next to me. Light goes green and I pull out quick butt not full. As soon as he gets passed the car next too him he goes for it swapps lanes like hes gonna pass me. I light off the after burner and tear him a new one. About 1/4 mile worth of run, I got him bye what looks like 1o lenghts. Next light he pulls up and says "damm LS1's" This is just one of the many reasons I love my car. Don't know what his mods were. Obviously not enough. I did not have my nitrous on.

The last 5.0 Capri was the 86 version. First year of EFI, but with restrictive heads (for the time). Car made 200 HP. 85 Capri's were visually almost identical (if no 3rd brakelight, its pre-86), and had a 205 HP carbed 5.0.

The 'improved' E7 heads became available in 87 with the freshened Mustang, but Capri was dropped.

Nope, nothing spectacular at all (most especially by today's standards). However, when they put them on the 87 5.0 in the Mustang, they became "the piece" that finished the puzzle, so to speak. The E7's were all the "talk" in 1987 when it came to Mustangs.

TR's were awesome in their day, and a clean, low-mileage example will still command an excellent price.
