Formula WS6 or Trans Am WS6???

What is the difference between the formula and the regular trans am and the formula ws6 and the trans am ws6???? just wondering.....

the formula usually comes with less options and as the last poster said it comes with different bumpers and no ground effects... a formula is usually a bit lighter than a trasn am because of the less options...

i had a dealer and MECHANIC at my local pontiac tell me that the formula is just a "cruising car" and not made to be like a trans am... they said that the suspension, motor and tranny in my 1995 formula were different than a trans am.. i could not believe i was actually hearing that! i just kinda shook my head, smiled and gave him the "uh huh" and nod.... and i am to trust this idiot to work on my car?!?

Maybe they were talking about the WS6 suspension option... but other than that if you don't get that option it's the same exact setup... I have a Formula Firehawk, no different from the Trans Am Firehawk other than it's lighter because of the body panels and spoiler ( but I have the trans am hatch ) Same options were avaliable for both, most like leather ect.. were just standard on trans ams. Formula's are usually cheaper unless you're looking for one with the firehawk or WS6 package. So it leaves more money free to put into mods, but don't expect them all to be ordered with full options. Mine doesn't have leather but I have T-Tops, Power Seat, cd 12 disc and hurst shifter that were added to the base formula

Yes. More correctly, it is the base Firebird look, with all the TransAm underpinnings. Chassis, suspension, drivetrain.
No ground effects, and the base Firebird spoiler.
There were fewer Formula WS6s made, so they are more rare (and more expensive used?).

ws6 is a formula
its all the same
unless you are talking a bout a firehawk which is:
a formula with a firehawk package...(susp. and wheels no ram air)

The only thing that's the same on base models is the engine, drive train, and suspension. WS6 an option for Formula's 98-00 and Trans Ams 98-02 Added Ram Air and options for a suspension package. The Firehawk for both the Formula and Trans Am body styles has Ram Air in an SLP Styled hood with heat extractors, offers A Sealed Intake and K&N Filter, Suspension, 01-02 Special I-ROC Spoiler, Synthetic Fluids Package, and an Auburn Differential.

Thanks to MadSeason for finally stating this correctly. Firebird--->Formula--->Trans Am. The Firebird has a V6. The Formula is the same bodystyle as the Firebird, but gets the Trans Am V8 engine. The Trans Am has the V8 engine, but gets different front and rear bumpers and a different spoiler.
