Killed by a new neighbor...and his chihuahua!

So, I'm on my way home yesterday, and get caught by a red light. As I'm sitting there in the middle lane, on my right I see a silver 2010 Camaro SS pull up. Sounded pretty good, and I'm ogling it since I havn't gotten to see a new SS up close yet. Anyways, while I'm looking it over, I hear another V8 revving on my left. I look over and see an effing black XLR-V trying his best to get noticed. He chirps his tires a couple times to let us know he's going. The SS returns the chirp, and I figure "What the hell? I'm stuck in the middle anyway..if there is a cop around he'll nail me too by association." so I just give a nice rev and a nod on both sides.

I'm holding it just under 3 grand when the light changes. All three of us spin like hell (must've been one hell of a sight to the cars behind us). The Camaro hooked up first, and got half a car on me before I caught traction. Once I hit 2nd I thought I might reel him in, but he was able to keep a fender on me. I was focused on the Camaro at this point though, and had almost forgotten about the Caddy until right as I hit 3rd I see him out of my window just walking right past me and the SS like our race was in his way.

At the next light we all exchanged smiles and thumbs-up (although I can't help but feel the Camaro driver was slightly disappointed that my 7 yr old car hung with him and the Caddy smoked him).

Anyways, I had roughly an hours drive home after that and ended up behind the Caddy. Kept following him, kinda wondering where he was going. Sure enough, he turns into my neighborhood, and into the driveway of this little house that's been for sale for awhile. I wondered if he actually lived there now or not, since it ain't exactly the house you see most XLR-V drivers at (1 story modular, small yard, etc. Cheapest house in the neighborhood), but sure enough the door opens, and a short, dumpy, bald guy gets out followed by this little chihuahua, and walks right into the place.

Oh well...if anything the guy knows how to make a first impression with the neighbors.

so i was just reading about the XLR....my sister has been getting on my nerves by calling it a cadillac corvette. anyway...the XLR-V is supercharged with 445 hp. but it looks like its still slow....11.3 0-100 isnt bad, but the quarter mile and 0-60 seem sub par for that HP...and at $100k..screw all that

with the kinda money he spent on that thing it better move. Thats cool though , would have liked to see that. I had sort of the same thing happen on the highway. Me and an aquaintence were running on the expressway and another guy from the group came around us in an M6. Was upset at first but then realized......He paid 110k for the car, that thing better move!!!!!

Eh, true, but you gotta remember...stock they come with a 2:56 gearing (i think). Nothing's gonna have a good 0-60 with that. From the way this guy laid rubber down at the start and took me, he's at least changed that.

I love the look of the cars though...don't think they're worth $100k, so I wouldn't save up for one, but if I had money to burn it would probably be my DD of choice.

The Cadillac XLR in N/A Form can be had for starting in the Low 20's
In fact that's going to be my next ride
I dig cadillacs and their cool electric drop tops
I think the XLR looks better than my vette

In a straight line atleast. You guys need to remember a supercar is not about 1/4mile time and trap speed. How about 60-0 in 95ft like the zr1 can do, 98-02 fbdys were lucky if they got 60-0mph in 120ft. The brakes on the zr1 cost over 10k alone. How about beating the enzo around many well known tracks, the aluminium frame, the pricey suspension and a drivetrain that can be warrentied with 638hp. At 100k the zr1 is a good deal. Just becasue it can run 10s in the 1/4mile with just sticky tires doesnt mean thats what it was desined for.
