In mid 2000, lots of the upgraded suspension components were taken away from the ws6 package. Because of that, the mid 2000 - 2002 ws6's rode more like a regular trans am. The 98 - mid 2000 ws6's actually rode stiffer and you could tell the difference night and day.

Custom Slate Blue- 99 B4C
It was totally stock, every race it shut him down at 130. It was just a t/a, not a ws6 if that makes a difference

Custom Slate Blue- 99 B4C
I've seen a formula, 96 I believe that was limited also, and I've seen em not. I've never been able to find out what the line was dividing the ones they limited and the ones they didn't, I'd like to know

what oval exhaust tips?
-

Not really oval, I know they said that, there were more of a circular stainless steel as apposed to the rounded off squares on the regular TA

mine had the ovals, er um rounded squares up until a week or so ago...definite giveaway for a regular TA from the back...and of course the lack of that great looking badge

The WS6 does come with the 3.23 and the regular T/A's came with 2.73 for the most part. Some non WS6 models however did come with the 3.23 rear end, like mine. And as far as the T/A's cut-off speed, that all dependeds on what type tires were on the car when it left the factory. You can look on the inside of the door at that sticker. If it came with z-rated tires you won't have that 130mph? cut off that they were talking about earlier

The following refers to 4th gen TA's & Formulas only...
Some Formulas and TA's came with the 2.73 gear and H rated tires.
These cars came with a speedo that listed 110 as the last number.
These cars were governed around 108 MPH
Other Formulas and TA's came with 3.23 gearing and Z rated tires.
These cars came with a speedo that listed 150 as the last number.
Ws.6 optioned Formulas and TA's came with 3.23 if auto and 3.42 if manual and Z rated tires.
In fact all 96-02 Ws.6 cars came from the factory with 275/40/17s all around.
The speedo on these cars also listed 150 as the last number.

I have an '02 Z28 and an '01 WS6.
The WS6 has a much stiffer suspension, takes curves much better, with overall general improved handling. But it isn't as comfy a ride, ie it rattles more than the Z.
But no way are they anywhere near the same. I've noticed the same difference between other's camaros and TA's.

Its geting prety close to being even now that prices are much lower. You may be just as well geting a WS6 instead of buing a Formula or T/A and having to buy the hood.
Oh yeah, and not all WS6's came with short throws. My 98 has the stock shifter in it.. really sucks!! Especially when you miss 3rd because the crapy ruber in the shift forks bind.

Check the Part numbers on the Springs for verification. Late '00-'02 WS6 will have # 10305134 or #22077421 which is the Standard V-8 Rear Springs from '98-'02 and I'd guess the Front spring will be #22077197, #22077195 or # 22197229.
#22132562 or #22132889 is the rear 1LE spring.
#22132561 or #22132887 for the front 1LE spring.

black- 02 ws6
The ws6 will be worth more later on in the future. they had a little bit more of a limited production. I dont think i will ever sell my ws6 but that is just me. get the ws6. it is by far the best car ever made. just my opinion though.
