Ebay build up

I started this a little while ago. The GT4294 turbo I bought is too big for the downpipe supplied with the kit. So This is where I'm at now. I'm waiting to sell that turbo to buy a new one that uses a 3" downpipe.

What did all of the parts cost you? My buddy pieced together a ebay kit for $500 for his Honduh b16 hatch back. He thinks hes going to beat me...

How many of those parts are truely not need like coil relocation, solid mounts, fans and radiator??

you need solid mounts and i stood up the radiator so i got the pusher fans. It probably could have been done without those.

only coil relocation; you absolutely need the rest.

Hey frost, do you have any problem with the fuel or brake lines or any of the wiring on the driver side? Also did you make that bracket to hold the turbo up? If you make two I'll buy one from you

No, I had some gussets welded into the manifold to make it stronger. Yes, all of those lines are a problem and all need to be re-routed or wrapped on top of having the piping itself wrapped.

I have all of the piping wrapped, have the ps lines rerouted and I guess I'm going to have to do something with the lines....

I just bought the same kit and I've been trying to find someone else who had one. how do the headers fit? and what problems am I going to run in to when I am ready to install it any info would be greatley appreciated. thanks. your kit is looking good so far.

You have to elongate the holes on the header flanges. I also cut off the wastegate dumping into the downpipe. I'm just having it vent to the atmosphere.

Well first, I'd say dont wrap the pipes. it'll end up cooking to your manifolds and you'll have a mess....trust me on this one, the heat generated from that will make the wrap basically melt on your pipes....If I still have the pics I'll show you what I'm talking about from one guy that didn't listen...but those look like headers??? Headers and Turbos just dont mix. You want the heat from the manifolds. If you're worried about engine bay temp get the pipes jet-hot coated. Why do you have two different size turbos??? I just noticed that...

The small one is the one that came with the kit from ebay. The other I sold. I now have a Garrett gt70 on there. I haven't had a chance to get pictures but I got some more done. From what I've researched, the shorty style headers are the best for turbos. I wrapped them because I'd like to have the spool advantage, and to keep the temps down. I guess I'll be "taking my chances" with the wrap. Sorry, but I have to disagree on what you say about it melting to the piping. The guy must have had some cheap wrap, I have the good shit.

Well I've seen DEI, Thermo Tec, and Moroso wrap all do the same thing....hopefully you wont have the same problem.

It's been a while since I posted. I got some done. I got the coil relocation brackets mounted, turbo mounted, all the hot parts on, and got the gauges hooked up. I also picked up a new hood. Hopefully I'll get quite a bit done this weekend. It was the wifes birthday last weekend so I didnt do anything.
