They are getting hard to find unmolested. The car never sold well. The last of these body styles was 1992, and Toyota sold about 1500 that year. Or what Ford sells of V6 Mustangs on a good day.
The kids buy them and destroy them. And they think they are hard to work on, including spark plugs.
They did. It isn't a direct fit. A front cut from the 1JZ-GTE with the steering wheel on the wrong side makes it much easier. Some have done it, and changed shortblocks to the 3.0. Costly, but easier than a straight 2JZ GTE swap. I would rather swap an LS1, even not being anything of a bolt in affair. It would be much better driving street car. Sort of like a new Goat, but being about 300 lbs lighter.

Torch Red- 2003 Ford Mustang Mach 1
Two cars in the garage, both Fords, both Mustangs. My '03 Mach 1 and the wife's 07 Mustang V6. Nice thing is, they are both paid for! Well, mine's paid for, the wife won her car in a sweepstakes contest!

Arctic White, red/gray- 1997 Corvette, 92 Typhoon
2005 legacy gt- downpipe, up pipe and tuned. 13.67 in 1/4 miles through an auto 5 speed
1987 supra targa turbo- had a 7mgte, first setup 357rwhp, second setup 370rwhp and final setup 517rwhp but now the 7mgte is toast. Doing a 1jz swap soon. Eibach suspension, upggraded brakes, tranny was rebuilt by jasper.Oh and just so you know the 2jz is a 3.0liter but the block and cylinders share the same dimensions as the 1jz, it just has a longer stroke which makes it a 3 liter, so a 1jz can be stroked just as big as the 2jz can. The head is almost identical except the 1jz head is made by yamaha and the 2jz is just a toyota copy of that head. The 1jz is the higher reving version of the low to mid range torque loving 2jz. Another reason the 1jz is loved because like the 2jz it has proven to handle 500-600crank hp without internal failure.

A couple of shots of the Yukon. I washed it in January(2008) right after buying it. I just got around to dumping those garbage tires it came with. They hummed pretty good, as though I had the BFG AT on it.

Arctic White & Black- '98 WS6 M6 - SWAPTIME!
I've got my WS6 (of course), a 1972 Camaro SS 350 Stroker and my 2002 Exploder Sport ... I have to sell my Exploder because my driveway looks like a used car lot (/payment $$!!!!) and I'm probably going to regret it terribly when it snows this winter and end up having to buy another truck. Plus my 01/02 Yamaha YZ125
