Thats right. The LS1 was touched by God when it was born, and then its your preference whether you want God's stick in your LSx or Jesus's stick in your LSx. Either stick gives you a huge lift and a lot of top end, but not much in the foreplay area.

A lot of people dont realize about the valve springs and having to check them/replace them often with a large cam. Its not a wise idea to have a large cam DD without some sort of a backup. You can just drive it and do oil changed like a vehicle that you just rolled off a dealership lot. The largest cam IMO for a long term reliable DD would be the ls6 z06 with the matching valve springs.

Well, if thats your opinion, than thats that. But I think you can go with a way better/larger cam. A 224/224 with mid .500 lift would be a great DD cam. And with a good 26918 spring, you could go for quite awhile with out changing spings. To each there own though.

I would like to say the search feature is useless if you don't know what specifics to search for.... You type in camshaft or whatever and get tons of shit to filter thru, I'm not the best searcher, But shit I've been lightly researching cams for LS1's since I've bought the car and this is the best thread I've found. It's hard to search specific forums only, since good threads could be almost anywhere. Yes I have tried searching in quotes.

The search is picky. Just like the search feature in any car forum... you really have to type in SPECIFICS. You have to remember the search feature can only search for things that you type. If you type in 'Camshaft'.... that single word is mentioned in every section of this fourm basically. So you might get a thread pop up in the appearance section where two guys/gals were just BS'ing about there mod list.

Say you want information on 228/228 camshafts.

Just type in 228.

Too many words either brings up nothing, or brings up things you were not looking for.
