    350z Kill

So last night on the way home from work I was just cruising along in 6th minding my own business. I notice these lights coming up FAST. So I only put it into 5th and punch it. We were kinda going through traffic. As soon as I got an opening I passed him up. It was pretty easy I didnt even move it from 5th which I could of. I just showed him who the bitch was and got off my exit. Arent they suppose to be faster than that?

They can do better than mid 14's stock. Some have gone high 13's.

I'm confused. I read an article in one of the major car mags back in '04/'05 and they took a Track edition to 13.77 in the quarter-mile. Why are people going mid 14's in these cars?

cause a bunch of people who cant drive watch fast and the furious and think there the fastest cars go and buy them but forget to learn how to drive first hahaha

because they take shifting lessons from fast and the furious and shift like 100 times and pull the e-brake and then hit the two tanks of NAWS!

seriously....back when i had my lt1/m6 i outran enough "early" model 350z's its not funny.

13's....pssh thats what i used to run and they were behind me LOL

The 06 and up ive heard can run low to mid 13's, the older models run high 13 to low 14's. I have to agree with the above comment, lots of them dont know how to drive very well. Ive seen plenty of vids as well were a stock 350Z is just as fast as a S2000 and some cases it might barely pull on a S2000, meaning the older models not the 06 and up. I wont be racing a 350Z but i will be going up against a G37 with exhuast and intake soon. The G37 being heavier will handicap him a bit but since its an auto and shifts fairly quick might help him out, so will see what happens with that.

Of course it would really depend on the driver. Kind of like the S2000. I've always heard they ran low 14's, but when I wen't to dragtimes.com I saw about 8 guys that wen't mid 13's stock. Darn driver mod!

A friend of mine has an '08 350Z. The car went 13.72@102mph bone stock. I would say that's a solid 13 second car. He isn't an amazing driver by any means.

    High 13s aren't uncommon for a stock S2000, especially the AP2s with the 2.2L.

Problem with these cars is they aren't going to respond as well to modifications as a 5.7L will, and most of them are pretty tuned from the factory, so you won't get huge gains from full bolt ons. So in stock form, they should give a stock LS1 car a run for it's money, however after modifications the LS1 will always come out on top.

Also, not to discredit F-bodies in any way, but the S2000 and the 350Z are all around better cars than an F-body, in my opinion (outside the dragstrip).

Well usually all imports are stock better all the way around. Mod for mod the camaro and trans am will kill both them in every way besides maybe mpg.

Not on God's green earth will a stock S2000 give an LS1 a run for it's $. Stock for stock an LS1 will rip it a new one. An S2000 is more on par with an LT1 stock for stock -not LS1, whole nother league.
