Also doesnt a good rear suspension and such and the right tires make up for a car so that it hooks better and not have to have all that weight. I mean how does a vette not shoot the whole thing in the foot, i bet a vette would still murder a challenger from a roll even though their HP is close. Thats weight isnt it?

Actually its math too isnt it, it takes this much work and this much force to move this much weight?
I'm sure weight will have some affect from a roll but since the car is allready moving it wouldn't be as much of a factor as it would from a stop.

So I threw it into 4th ...whoops, threw it into third..there we go and neck and neck we were and then I started pulling on him and had him by a half car. This was all probably within a 1/4 mile. I had to slow down cuz there was a car in front of me. I felt bad for the guy cuz he paid all that money and got beaten by an 8 yr old car. I have shorty headers, pnp TB, lid, filter. small mods
Don't use ricer math. He might have a 1980's 9sec foxbody in the garage...

Sounds spot on for a stock SRT-8 vs. bolt-on LS1. Nice kill.

Yes exactly. More weight, needs more power to accelerate, everything else being the same. Talkkng of things that are close to the same, not crazy examples of 500 pounds vs. 4500. However, look how fast motorcycles are with only what, 200 HP? Massive acceleration, but not very good at aerodynamics.

have you ever seen the aerodynamics of a suzuki hayabusa? they are designed for top speed and acceleration that bike was the reason the capped the speed off at 186 back a few years ago.

No I haven't. Not much into the bike scene. So the 'zuki has good aero? What kind of power do these things have, anyway? What kind of power does it take for them to run mid 10s in the quarter? (jacking the thread oops!)

A recent 0-180mph test the winner was actually a ZX-10. Beat the ZX-14 AND the 'Busa!

Had to do with gearing and suspected electronics that limit power.
