headers question

when i get my headers and i get ready to put them on........do i have to take the engine out or can i leave the engine in and change it like that? i know there isnt alot of room on the sides but i wasnt all the way sure.

engine stays in the car some brands slide in from top or bottom don't freak though if you need to dent a tube or two there not all perfect

keep the engine in..you will free up quite a bit of room when you take the old exhaust out....go from the bottom ....check your clearances before you bolt the headers completely up..some trimming might be needed...and while you are there..change your motor mounts...TRUST ME!

you know im not really sure what kind i want to put. i dont know all my options yet but now that i know i have to pick from LT's, mids and shorties.......so what is the normal pick for a person trying to get headers?

dont take this the wrong way..but you might be over your head a little on installing these headers..that is unless you can use a lift..are comfortable with a sawzall or getting under your car and jacking your car pretty high.

i dont have a problem doing any of the maintance. i just want to know whats best before i get it. i know i can jack my car up pretty good on my jacks that i know of and using a sawzall.......that should be fun as hell. i just dont want to mess anything up so i am just double checking by asking

you wont have to take the engine out, some people have had to notch their k member though. Also try and get gm gaskets if you can.

If emissions are not a problem get LT's, 3" ORY (Off Road Y-pipe), Cut Cats, and get either a CAT Back System or not.

I have cut my CATs and have a Magnaflow muffler

LT's by far.... mids and shorties are imo a waste of money... check out eh ebay header thread... that's what i got $220.00 to my door...
