I agree with you too but that still having reverse is messing me up. Either way though 2-4 or sunshell I think it has to come apart. I have had them do really odd things when a sunshell is breaking or broken. once I had a problem with the trans missing the 2-3 shift add readline the motor every time when I operated the manual valve from 2nd to 3rd and worked fine with the manual valve in OverDive . It was a cracked HP sunshell. another time I lost 2,4 and R. Again broken sunshell. They never seem to do the same thing for me they always keep me guessing.

I've disassemble servo and inspected all the seals. Pulling what hair I have out. I'm going to drop pan and again and apply band with presure and see if I can turn output shaft, will this confirm any band problem?

Seriously, its time to pull the trans out and disassemble it at least down to the sunshell. I've never seen or heard of a broken band so that's probably not it.

Have you found a solution. I am having the exact same problem. I lost reverse, 2nd and 4th. Pulled the tranny, replaced the broken sunshell with the beast sunshell. Easy money, now have reverse, but still no 2nd and 4th. So upgraded to the corvette 2-4 servo, still nadda. Band was in good shape, sunshell is new. Baffled?

Replying my own quote. I found the issue with my trans.
I dropped the pan, checked to make sure the servo was working and engaging the band. Worked Jim Dandy. Dropped the valve body, tore it down, checked and cleaned. checked the electronics, all good. Turns out after a phone call to local trans shop/parts supplier, he is about 70 years old. He told me to check my separator plate. Sure enough, there lies the problem. 2 holes were elongated. Bought a Trans-Go separator plate, He drilled a couple holes out. Put it all back together. Works perfect.

Sounds like the sunshell. You have to tear it far enough down that if it hasn't had a rebuild and has some miles on it it would be worth it to just fix the weak links with a beast sunshell, good clutch pack, bands ect. New T/C just because you never know what kind of fragments might have been released when it broke. They can cause all kinds of problems in the T/C and if they make thier way back to the valve body you will chase problems untill you tear it apart and start all over. If it's an older or stock T/C I would upgrade it a bit.
