New improved Idler pulley install in pics

I got a little sideways with revving up the ol engine the other day on a back country road.......10 min later my engine was over heating.....no power steering......and the alt gauge was at the bottom .........pull over and the coolant tank is puking dex cool all over the concrete.......pop the hood.......NO BELT......I would like to think that it snapped.....but it was less than 2 weeks old.....guess I was a victim of the ol rev to much and lose the belt.......I have heard that there is a different pulley that has taller outside edges to keep the belt contained a little better.......it is either that or get a katech pulley tensioner.......which is not happening now $$$$$.........and its a good thing I have towing on my car insurance.......follow along

I did the same thing on my car only I used an idler pulley off of a 2000 pontiac gtp with a supercharger. I'm not sure what car yours came off of but on mine I had to grind down some of the inner ribs to clear the back of the pulley on the bracket and also on the front for the bolt with the washer. Mines been and I havent had any problems in 8000 miles works great.

did a reverse search at o riellys.......this pulley just about goes on anything......ford ....dodge....it is on a dayco tensioner so it fit perfect.......did not have to clear any thing on the back side.....dont know how it fits the stock tensioner......this number is listed for the LT1 birds......so if that GM number is for those it will fit

with this dayco tensioner there are not any dust shields as you can see......just the bolt that has the big head on it to take its place
