Lost to an LS2 GTO today....

Today on the way to work at 4am, I ran into a bright red gto. He was pacing me and i thought why not try against the HIGHWAY MONSTER LS2!! We went twice at 80mph roll. He wouldnt try any slower than 80. Both times same results. Started at 80 and ended at 110. He pulled slowly on me and had half a car length between my front bumper and his rear bumper when i ended at 110. Those are fast engines and i give them credit when its due. I wish we could have raced from a deadstop. Maybe next time. Maybe he comes on this forum??

Earlier this week i raced an ls2 gto on the highway. We started at around 50mph and was dead even for a few seconds and then i pulled on him pretty good, i was a few car lengths ahead of him at about 100 and he gave up, they sound pretty bad ass though.

But what the hell kind of race is a 80 mph roll?

i was thinking the same thing.

The guy would not slow down at all. As the outcome might have been different. Thats the advantage of any LSx over a four banger.

i dont think he's dumb enough to race a evo from a dead stop

The LS2 GTO's are a beast on the top end, and pull hard from 3rd gear on. I've run a few from the GTO club in Vegas. I can pull like crazy in the lower gears, but I do notice I'm not pulling away quite as fast at higher speeds.

I was impressed by it after coming out of a win against a camaro z28.

What gear did you race from. Im assuming 4th? 80mph is a high roll on for an EVO. I raced my friends 05 GTO and annihilated him from a 55mph roll-on, but he is stock. We never went from 80 tho...

It was from 4th gear. Im assuming the gto was stock. I think i need to dyno my evo. How much whp and tq are you putting down and what dyno?
