Just installed some 24lb injectors today, and love it! Got a slight high idle, but I'm checkin' into that. I've got a couple of other small things done so far, and will have pics, and hopefully videos soon to show off.

Wow! After the computer said "Oh, shit! What in the hell is this crap???" a few times, everything has leveled out. The idle has dropped down to a steady 900 rpms, and where it used to reach 4100-4200 rpms, and seemed to lose all power, it's hitting 5500 before it shifts, and still has power all the way thru 5500 rpms! I love it so far. Now i'll get ya posted on the gas mileage effects in about a week. Haha.

Look into a different upper and lower intake if you want tp wake up your motor on the new injectors too. Also you can look into a set of 3500 heads and build a hybrid 3.4/3500 and get her up over 200hp relatively easily.. You'll need push rods from the 3100 for the use of 3500 heads. The 60*v6 has many options including cams, except for the TDC which has nearly no after market..

A 3.4/3500 hybrid would run rings around any stock N/A 3800.. He already has a 3.4L (not to be confused with the 3400 chinese engine) all he would need is some used 3500 heads and a new set of 3100 push rods which are cheap.. Because of the difference in deck hieght between the 3.4 and 3500. The 3.4 is lighter and can be made to turn rpms that would scatter a stock 3800 with all cast internals. The 3.4l has forged connecting rods from factory and has no need for a stupid balance shaft to keep it from flying apart like the all iron 3800 does..:coffee: Quite frankly the 90* 3800 is all but obsolete and is being replaced with 60* v6s in all GM car applications.
3100 pushrods are too long ;) You need to use them from a gen2 3.1 MPFI FWD engine.
3800 rods are also powder forgings lol. The 60 degree's got forged cranks starting with the 3500.
If only I had known these things when I was in high school and had a 94 3.4 camaro. :D
Finally found out it's the same LT1 and set up that is in the Firebird's/Camaro's from that year range, and the injectors are definitely 24lb injectors.
My son's 94/93 3.4L runs really well. I like it more than the 3.8L I used to have -- it does seem better balanced.
kinda reminds me of the old rotary airplane engines -- just packing the extra cylinders behind instead of beside.
the porsche and BMW boxer engines aren't this well balanced.
I have a 3800II myself in my 01 Camaro, I don't mind the engine. But if I placed it next to my LQ1, I'm going LQ1.. When my TDC (lq1) was stock it would run rings around my newer 3800II. The 3800 has the LQ1 beat in low end torque but can't touch it for top end. My 01 3800 could pull away from my 18 year old LQ1 for about 50-60 feet. But when my 3800 is out of steam and looking for gears @ 4800-5200 rpm, my LQ1 is has 2k more rpm's to go and lots of second gear left. Quite Frankly it's bub bye 3800! In front-wheel drive 3800 cars without an SC the LQ1 was slightly faster in the quarter and still slightly faster 0-60 times than a comperable 3800. Most LQ1's red lined @ 7000 rpm stock, and could sustain it all day on stock internals. Try that with a stock internals in a 3800, there's a good chance you'll be back picking up the pieces of the motor @ half track. You wont turn 7k all day with a 90* motor in stock form. I know there are some who will say that they have, that's fine but the LQ1 was designed from the ground up with high rpms in mind. The 3800 was not. 60* v6's have no need for a "balance shaft" as the all iron 3800 does and all the GM v6 have had problems, but the 90* are becomming obsolete, and are being replaced with the superior(sp) 60* v6. Even the new 304hp 3600 v6 in the 2010 Camaro is an N/A 60*v6!! In general, what does a stock SC 3800 make?? Say about 240hp WITH an SC? No question hands down the 60*v6 is alive an well..:woot::devil::coffee:
Can anyone confirm that the 3.4L 1993 motor used the SAME throttle body as the 3.1L? Are they both 52mm?
I just sold a throttle body pulled off a guaranteed 3.4L S-VIN salvage motor and the buyer is now claiming it's a 3.1L being a 52mm. It looked the same to me as the 3.4L throttle body... he wants to return it but I'm concerned he swapped out the good TPS and air idle control switches and is returning a different unit.
