Found out control arm Heim joints can make noise at low speed when the weight shifts on it.
Attachment 26735the fix on Install University worked in 10 seconds... after 18 yrs.! The 2 rubber bumpers about size of a nickel and Life-saver width (maybe a Rollo chocolate for shape!) were never unscrewed out to spec once screwed in all the way at factory. My auto pop hatch has NEVER worked, but i adjusted each rubber bumper out c. 1/2 turn and "Voila! " She pops like factory fresh! Grinning! I was holding a gift bottle of wine from trunk while doing it, too! So easy! HILARIOUS GM story....
THANK YOU THANK YOU TransAm Terry for the Install U. link!
I've been having trouble with the hatch release for months, but never any trouble with the hood. (That's it in driving F-body cars since the last century.) I'll try some lubricant, thanks - don't know why I never thought of that. I should be glad the car with well over 150,000 miles doesn't have any problems under the hood. It did just get pooped on days after a wash :hitfan:
Got 23.6 mpg this week, 360 miles of travel on one tank.
:yup:
I just got my poly/rotos in for the rear. Getting rid of those clunky rod-ends.
Lol. I hate cars.

And then my car decides it wants to be a bitch...the dash, not the pad, cracked by the a pillar on the drivers side. :wtf: :brick:

That's from that 'ugly lower corner of Al. ' heat & sun !
I put the final torque on the new parts, greased them up, and adjusted the new shocks to 1 full turn past full soft... Haven't test driven it yet, though. I'll probably wash it today, if I get the chance.
After being disassembled for the last 9 months i finally got the passenger seat recovered in new leather and reassembled now to do the drivers side. Clean the carpets and get everything put back together.
Have to say with all this nice weather here in NY, was able to finish the stereo install with no issues. Now onto some better speakers although it does sound pretty good with the stock ones!

Installed new radio and Sirius Sat radio in the car today as well as finished hooking up the Raptor dual shift light.
That bitch is bright as hell at night. Do not loose the yellow cover.....unless you want to be blind...lol...
"Gracie" just passed the 160,000 mile barrier this week, still feeling strong.
