    upgrading the 6 speed

    i have a 1998 trans am. this winter when it gets parked i am going to start buying parts for it. new clutch and a 12 bolt rear. my question is what can be upgrading on the 6 speed as far as internals and where can i go about finding where to buy them. thanks for the help.

    How much HP are you looking to put thru the transmission

    im looking from 425-500 hp. just trying to make one sweet street car thats fun to drive. every one says the rears go, so thats why im getting a moser 12 with 3.90's or 3.73 and for clucth im going with Ram Clutches Powergrip HD Clutch with Ram Clutches Billet Steel Flywheel. let me know whate everyone thinks. thanks

    I'm in the same boat as you as far as power. I'll be getting a Spec stage III clutch and 4.10's in the 12 bolt to handle it. Also since I have a 98-00 I'm going to replace the slave cylinder with one from 01-02 rather than doing the drill mod.

    i thought about the spec stage III clucth but i have heard some much bad things about it. i would rather spend twice as much and do it right then do it several times. someone help me and MadSeason out on this question. what can be done to upgrad our trannys and where to buy all of it. someone has to know this question.

    There's no need to upgrade the tranny with the power we plan on making. If you really want to insure yourself though check out Rodney Transmissions, For 1300 you can get a race ready T-56 rebuild that should handel all the hp you'll ever need. Exotic Performance Plus should be able to direct you to him as I don't have his info anymore. He can tell you exactly what they upgrade

    i would rather be safe then sorry. with upgrading the clutch the tranny will be out and it has almost 110,000 miles on it. even if i dont need to upgrad the tranny i would rather do it, never know what might go on it down the road. but thanks for the info i will look into it.
