I'm really sorry to hear that. I know you've been through a hell of a time with all this. Personally, if it were me, I'd file a civil suit for medical, damages and pain and suffering. But, if just trying to put it all behind you is what you want to do... I wish you all the best in being able to do so

But, don't you have other witnesses that knew the guy that were there to back up your story of knowing who it was? What about the girl? Seems to me that you can prove the cop has his head up his ass If nothing else, take his ass to court and sue him for injuries. You have witnesses. This is why I said not to count on the system and call a personal injury lawyer... Don't give up!

It won't be easy for a while. I imagine you'll have some sort of Physical Therapy exercises you'll have to do to get everything working right again, huh? But, real food is right around the corner. I'll bet you're planning out your first meal for when you're finally able to eat
