Don't Have One Yet- 98-02
Planing for my First Firebird
Hi, All. I'm presently saving for my first Firebird (98-2002 model) and could use all the advise I can get. My plan is to try to find one relatively cheap, say $5 grand? Then either rebuild the existing LS1 or have a new motor built that will fit the engine bay. I plan to replace the stock transmission and replace with a heavy duty one, racing type. Also, replacing the rear end may become a necessity as well. From then out, send the car to the body shop and remove any noticeable rust and paint.
I really have no experience in this hobby and any advise along the way will be helpful. All I know is, what I want and I'm going to need to the save the necessary funds to do it. I don't want to do this half-ass.

Yeah, I thought about buying a v6. Will there be any consequences of the vehicle being titled as a v6 when it's a v8?
