    Newbie Vette question

    After owning 4 camaro's(1985,1987,1994,1998) I just bought a 99 c5 and I love it !! 2 questions - first I am looking at lowering it 1.5 inches ... Will I bottom out alot I wonder ?? ( I had lowered my 98 ls1 Camaro about the same and almost never bottomed out the suspension). Next - I'm looking at the air intake, I'm looking at a k&n with 02 zo6 lid and the other is a twin cone filter type by bcp - wonder what one of the two would be better ? (car is stock except for mufflers).

    Welcome to the site and congrats on the purchase!

    Not a clue about lowering a Vette -- but on the air filter system it is best to stay away from the oiled cotton gauze filters. They simply allow too much dirt into an engine and excess oil on the filter can mess up your Mass Air Flow sensor. The new nano filters are nice - I run an Amsoil Ea filter on our Trans Am. Do a little research and you'll see what I am talking about. You can also post this question in the Vette section of the forum and see what the other site members recommend.
