White- 1999 Camaro Z28
New Member
Hello all. I am new to the LS1.com website and new to LS1 motors. I have owned a few Camaros in my day but have just recently purchased my first LS1 powered Fourth Gen. I have owned the car for a little over a week and have probably visited this site a million times looking at how to threads and looking at other members cars. My recent purchase is a 1999 Z28. This is no show car but it is pretty clean for being as old as it is with 135,xxx miles on it. Thanks to you all I have already successfully replaced both main and a/c belts with pulleys. I want to keep the car stock (because the wife will kill me), but there are so many aftermarket parts and these motors seem fairly easy to upgrade. Thanks for reading my cherry post and thanks again to you all with the helpful threads and posts.

Thank you. I really enjoy the website. Just one problem it is killing the battery on my iPhone.

Welcome to the site, Brandon! Congrats on the Camaro, and, if you hang around here long enough... You won't have a completely stock LS1 for very long

The car has a Magnaflow muffler and Corvette wheels on it. The wheels are nice, but I see a lot of guys putting Vette wheels on their Camaros. I have 40 Series Flowmasters on my 67 Camaro, so the Magnaflow isnt as loud as I like. Loud pipes save lives. I have thougt about a SLP lid or K&N air intake, upgrading the coil packs, wires and plugs. I have my eye on a set of wheels and some beefy tires to fill out the wells.

Do you have the automatic? If so, get a stall, lid, and tune. It will wake that car up considerably. Everyone who gets a higher stall on their car wonders out loud why GM didn't put a higher stall on the car from the factory.

It has a 6 speed. I haven't dogged on it too much because I want to get use to driving it. Well, that's my excuse anyway. I have to let the new car wear off from the wife before UPS or FedEx starts showing up at my door with a million boxes. I told ger that it would be hers after my 67 was finished but the other day I had her start it and I was going to teach her to drive a stick but she is too short to get the clutch all the way in. Looks like I won't have to hide the extra keys!
