primer- 1957 Chevy Bel Air 4 door
New here from Cheyenne Wy.
Hey guys. My name's Dave. I'm an E-6 in the USAF. I'm a Command Level Evaluator for the Minuteman III ICBM's here in Cheyenne. I have a pair of 53 Deluxes and a 57 4 door Bel Air at the farm in North Dakota I'm going to play with. The 57 will be the first project for the family to cruise in. My little brother's big in the LS stuff in his 57 panel so I figured I'd check it out. I have a 2003 Tahoe Z71 with the 5.3 and love it so I figured the LS stuff isn't bad at all. I've read alot of posts here and see everyone want's tons of HP and use the 6.0 or the LS1 for it. I'm happy with what my Tahoe has in it for power but would like to get a 2wd setup for the 57 in either 5.3 or the 6.0. I have a drag car (not going to mention the brand or model here or get lynched) that's going to be over 650rwhp so I'm not looking for monster power. Just a 350rwhp setup for the 4 door family weekend cruiser project. Has anyone here done anything like this?
Are the 5.3, 5.7 and 6.0 mostly the same like the old 305, 350, 400 were? I've had my share of them back in the day. I can see the intakes are different. I think I can get a totaled truck and take the setup out of it and work it into my 57. I just wonder what the compatibility is like with them.
Thanks
Dave
