hey all im a new memebr here on the boards and im from abilene texas.

im here to find out some info on the ls series engines and thinking about building a 383 out of one for an 82 shevy swb

Thank you! The blue stuff is actually all stock from a top end project I tackled over the winter.. But the red engine is part of a custom Twin turbo build.. After which the blue engine will get the works too..

thanks for the welcomes so an ls1 or ls3 whatever i could find which whould be best for a 383? which whould be cheeper an easier to find?

Welcome aboard.

LS1's are going to be the cheaper engine to find... and more plentiful. The LS3 has only been arounds since 08, and the LS1 since 97. Plus the LS3 is a 6.2 (376 cu in.) and the LS1 is a 5.7 (346 cu in).
