New 2001 WS6 TA owner in Pembroke Pines, FL

Recently purchased a 2001 Pontiac TA WS6 in red last month in Boone, NC. The car had 5800 miles on it & was/is immaculate. Its a 6 speed & while enjoyable, I have already had some upgrades performed by EFI Alchemy in Jacksonville, FL. Sub-frame connectors, strut tower brace, SLP cold air pack & a tune by Doc Harrison. The car performs much better, but is still up for some further upgrading. Looking to strengthen the drivetrain (rear end, clutch, driveshaft) before either going with a heads & cam package on the current 5.7 or installing a GM LS 376/480 crate motor. I am looking to have a daily driver that has a choppy "cammed up" idle & delivers perhaps 500 hp & low 12's at the strip.

I would welcome any suggestions or guidance that can help guide this. I also own a 2011 Shelby GT 500 with the Performance Package in black. I am looking to emulate the performance of my Shelby in my TA without resorting to a blower or nitrous. Love the styling & handling of my TA, but having been spolied driving the Shelby for a year, need to up the performance on the "Bird."
