    LS 944 Porsche

    Hello,

I am new as this thread is in the new member area. I found this site while looking into a high reving LS motor.

I am running my LS1 block in a 1986 turbo 944 Porsche body. I am limited to a 400 -450 ft/lbs torque of the transaxle.

the trans is setup for speeds of 180mph+ with the fifth gear swap I am running. Not that I truly ever intend on making it that far, but for highway cruising that brings my 70mph rpm to a shocking 2k-2.5k area. I would be unstoppable at speed.

But the real reason I want to run a higher revving than stock is to get in the area other smaller engines are shifting out at. I would like to be in the 7k area for shifting.

Any advice would be nice. I am running an ls1 block with ls6 heads and dual comp springs that seat around 150lbs. I dont have any other parts upgraded. that is why I am here.

This is a picture when I had it installed in the early model 1985 944. I have upgraded to a turbo body and am in the process of rebuilding the ls1 motor

showing my headers and final install

like I said this will be changing to a turbo body which is ready for the engine, just have to build it.

now can you guys help me with the engine build questions?

well that one I originally planned to track it so I stripped everything out completely, but after putting all the time and money into the mod I decided I wanted to drive it on the street too.

It will be a little more cramped after all is said and done.
