hello everybody, you can call me snake, ive been messing with this trans am for about 3 months now, its a friends that im buying from him... he decided he wanted a black one with the 6 speed, so hes letting me use this one till i can buy it... i absolutely love this car, its a 2002 White WS6, no really outrigous mods on it, has an aftermarket stereo that will be replacing, 2 12 kickers in the back end that need an amp... has the air filter mod, but id like to take off all the plastic there and just put a round filter on it... the back end above the exhaust is painted black, and i just did a blinker mod on it yesterday... other than that 77k miles and its awesome... i did find a problem with the exhaust though, im pretty sure the catalitic converters welds have busted at the top, cus thats where it rattles when starting up, and i can move it with my hand... is this common for these cars???

..don't know but could be the ball flange that connects the drivers side cat to the y-pipe. i was hearing rattling and an exhaust leak, turned out it was just a bad gasket at the ball flange..

Welcome to the site! I have not heard of a busted converter before, but I suppose anything can happen. Usually, the converters simply fail and the rattling that you hear is the substrate inside the converter that has broken into smaller pieces.
