Navy Blue Metallic- 2000 T/A Firehawk M6
Ford guy thinking of joining the dark side
Hi my name is Dylan and I drive a Lincoln.
As my name suggests I currently drive an LSC. a 1997 Mark VIII LSC. As much as it kills me to say, this cars days may be numbered. Last week it was rear ended by an 07 or 08 Milan. On first glance people don't think the damage is that bad but the sad truth is that the Milan was braking so hard his nose dipped low enough to hit me UNDER the bumper on my lowered LSC. In fact he crumpled up one of my exhaust tips real bad almost pulled the whole muffler right off the car. It is my feeling that the insurance will total this once beautiful luxury sport coupe and with the high milage i've racked up, repair may not be a wise decision.
This brings me to why I have joined this message board. I had been eyeing WS6 Trans Am's for some time now. I was planning on saving up some cash and buying one as a fun car to go alongside my LSC. Now It appears I am looking to simply replace it altogether. I am not very familiar with these cars beyond the fact that I love the way they look and the way they sound. I've never driven one or been in one and have no idea if I would be able to deal with one on a daily basis coming from a car with DOHC air suspension cushy leather Xenon automatic headlamps etc etc luxury car standard fair.
My hope is that with the help of those of you who do have these fine automobiles I can reach a conclusion about wether or not I should own one and, i'm leaning toward yes, where to buy and how much to spend. Assuming I were buying today.... can't :-( I'd think I would want a 2002 Pewter Trans Am WS6 black interior 6M. I know that kind of narrows it down.... a lot.... so I will shut up now and get to know some of you better
Thanks
Dylan

Welcome to the world of pushrod power.
I was driving a '94 V8 T-bird until a young lady hit me and totalled it.
Now I have a '99 Z28.
Come on over into the light, friend!!!
Welcome.

Thank you for welcoming me. It's one thing I love about car communities in that all are generally welcome.... providing they keep an open mind of course.
Sadly my story just went from bad to worse. My NY inspection expires on Tuesday so today i went to get a new one only to find out that my ECU no longer will communicate with the OBD II diagnostic equipment. Also my MIL ended up being a no show with the key on engine off..... I'm hoping this isn't my ECU saying replace me but i'm sure this is a topic for a separate area of the forum. I don't have the time to go there and post my problem now but perhaps when I get home tonight I'll give a look. I'm sure someone has some OBD II experience.
Again, it is great to be here and I look forward to learning a lot about these LS1 powered beasts, I just hope I can get the Lincoln to keep chuggin along till I have the cash to buy one of my own.

thank you again. Just a quick update incase anyone tries to answer my problem above. I found a blown fuse for the OBD II connector.... sadly replacing it hasn't gotten my MIL to wake up, but i'm that much closer.
thanks again

Pewter- 2002 T/A WS6
Welcome, dude! I drive an 86 Ford Thunderbird (TC) as my cushy daily driver. Sorry to hear about your car!
WS6's aren't luxury cars, but they are high performance. Seats aren't as cushy as your LSC but aren't uncomfortable. I suggest taking a test drive (not just sitting in one, actually driving it too) to see how you like the overall package. Also make sure, if you find one you want to buy, check to make sure it is indeed a real WS6 and not just a Trans Am with stuff added aftermarket. There is a sticky about it in the WS6 forum here, so make sure to check that out and read up. I think you will like it. Just give it a try (I sound like a crack dealer ).

well I just had an amazing day. from starting off a bit rough it all turned around. Some money I had been expecting showed up i fixed the MIL so my car will be ready to pass inspection tomorrow. I had the damage estimated and so long as i don't mind driving a bit of a banged up ride the car I have now will service me fine for the forseeable future seeing as the damage seems to be limited to non critical components of the car. Mechanically the linc is great... much better than when I bought it in fact.
fluke you ARE a crack dealer since it appears you have my poison in your possession!!! That 86 T-bird is before the MN-12 came so ur riding a ford fox car and a GM f-body.... NICE!!! I also have a fox.... a 1992 Mark VII LSC otherwise known as the gentlemans GT. Sadly that car will be departing as well. It's been in the family for 9 years but my father just doesn't want it anymore. He would rather have the cash and drive his 4 banger to save on gas. When I first got my license my father bought it and I drove it for 3 years.
Quick rundown of my Mark:
C&L 80mm Mass air
9" K&N conical filter
custom made aluminum cold air box
replaced hydraulic motor mounts with high durometer rated solid rubber
slotted cross drilled front rotors
1-2 shift accumulator upgrade and flush fill with mercon V.... (common mark mod)
255lph Walbro fuel pump
Lincoln Motorsports ECU upgrade
Denso Iridium spark plugs
Poly differential bushings
poly upper rear shock mount bushings
2003 cobra bilstein shocks
sensor lowered air suspension
Never had it dynoed but LSC's had true dual exhaust from the factory and were rated 10 hp higher than base marks at 290hp so you can make your own judgement as to what I may be making now. curb weight of the mark is something around 3700lbs. I still love the car to death and now that i'm starting to get over the damage i'm really thinking of going back to plan A and keeping both cars.
