Buick Guy... sort of... well... not really
hey been a member since 2007, but my account seems to be a little behind... (sorry been awhile since I have been here) so this seems like a good place to start it back up and get current...
I have Buick Regals (t-types) but really cant stand the little turbo v6... been there done that...
I really love the ease and reliability of the LS platform... so YUP.. you guessed it.. I am doing a engine swap...
I know its been done into the grand nationals and I applaud those that had the guts to do it...
I think its pretty cool what can do with these motors on a relatively cheap budget (as opposed to the buick parts)
To all the new guys... dare to be different.. I think everybody can respect these motors and what they are capable of...and you will definitely find a TON of help here for what ever you want to do...
These guys have helped me out a couple times.. and I plan to use more of their knowledge in the near future...
Later
Matt.

I am definitely going to need eveybodies help here with the engine/wiring...in the near future...

skylark???
wow that would be insanely different...
mine wont be that hard because its just a regal... and there are so many G-body swaps out there already...
but a skylark... you are really going to upset some folks with that one!!! hehehe I will keep you updated if you keep me updated... I love seeing that kinda stuff...
guy on here i found last night is doing an 99 alero... another wild creation...
I think its pretty cool when ya see that kind of creativity... Tallants autobody in Kansas City did a 572BBC into a 03 Caddillac STS... and EVERY factory option works on it... another cool one I have seen was a local guy where I am at... took a old 440, turbo charged it and slammed it into a Dodge Stealth with a tubbed rear end.. both of those cars are real head turners...
thanks for the welcome! good to be here...

oh yeah...
well to tell ya the truth... I have never built a hot rod.. so now is the time...
I have rebuilt a couple cars, but not the way I WANT THEM.. so this one is for fun... and its a lot of extra work so far... but its going well and is actually enjoyable...
I work on business jets right now... and yah know that stuff is cool.. but eh... cars are more fun i think.. you can do anything and not have to worry about paperwork...
I will try to post some pics when I can... I gotta snap some more here reall soon so I will after that.
getting ready to POR15 the floor pan... (yeah paint removal)

info. for you!
hey 1fast,
you need to check out montecarloss.com
I am transformer over there
there are a couple guys over there that have done that exact swap...
infact check this link out...
http://www.montecarloss.com/communit...61&nt=8&page=1
that shows the BRPhotrod guys..
another link if you search is John Bdzel's Monte SS LS1 swap.. his write up is very complete, and i think he may have even went to an ls7... some of the info is dated though because when he did his swap.. no aftermarket stuff was out there for the G-bodies. quite a bit more plug and play stuff now..
and there is another guy over there by the screen name blubaldmontess that did an LQ9 swap.. he's got some good data too...
I am going really slow with mine right now.. (getting ready to switch jobs)
Best of luck when you do yours... everybody loves the end result when its done...
infact.. just met a 65 yr old handicapped man that had a LS3 swap done into his T-type... pretty straight forward ... and he used a 99 ls1 pcm used corvette exhaust manifolds... He said he was making around 425hp and loved it...

thanks again
thanks for the warm welcome again... this site is quickly becomeing my favorite... I am really impressed with all the hospitallity...
Wireing is a pain in the #$$... but you cant look at it as a whole project... just one wire at a time...
I work on aircraft (business jets) and we build the complete interior from the ground up... when we start the aircraft interior has nothing but bare structure... by the time its finished there are miles of wires and many computers mounted under the floor. so you really cant look at the whole wire system when you start or you will get overwhelmed.. just one wire at a time... and multiply the time...
car wireing is a pain just because your dealing with an existing rats nest of a wire loom... and its against good sense to start tearing stuff out... but just label everything you can ... another thing that will help is when you go with your LS1... just get a plug and play set up... you can always add the extra little stuff later... ebay has some good options and the aftermarket guys are really stepping up to the plate..
guess what I am saying is wireing is just another part...

Seems like alot of the good car folk are down in so co area... i have made a lot of trips over that way for parts...
I was just over there last week picking up some POR 15 paint from the only St. Louis dealer that caries the stuff...
just saw a craigslist add for a guy that needed $$$ and had 2 1957 chevys over that way for rediculously cheap 3500$ for the nice one.. and it was a complete car...
LOTS of hot roders over there.
