Will a hypertech save me?

I have a 98 camaro ss with 4 53 gears. my speed o is 15 to 25 mph fast, will a hypertech power programmer save me? And can I buy a used one to fix my problem?

I believe Hypertechs can correct for gear changes. If you buy a used one, its extremely risky. The previous person has to unload the program from their PCM back to the hypertech to restore it. A Hypertech can only be used on one vehicle. Lot of people get screwed on this.

It would honestly be in your best interest to get ahold of a tuner that could correct the speedo for you and cost you less than a Hypertech.

Frost can do a mail order tune if it is not your DD.

There are probably a lot of shops in the Bay Area that can do that for you, i live in Stockton, theres none here but i know of a couple places in sac. and i think maybe Tracy/Lathrop that can do it....... oh, i have also heard/read nothing but great things about FROST, you might wanna consider that route, probably cheaper.

Are you sure you car doesn't have 4.56 gears? Or maybe 4.30's? I've never heard of a 4.53 gear. Do you know the manufacturer?

I ask cuz you've got to know the final drive ratio and tire diameter to get your speedometer to read correctly.

Frost did a great job on my car, I would go through him before going the hypercrap route. Been there done that.

I also went with Frost. Great route to go and was fast! Car was only down a week

DONT buy a hypertech...they are risky and the tunes suck. my car had a hypertech tune and it was garbage

if you want to buy something, buy HP tuners.
