    Why would this light flash?

After my cam swap into my 2000 Z28, my SES (service engine soon) light is flashing. It has always been on because of my full exhaust with no cats. But now its flashing. Why is that?

Blinking is a misfire. Check to make sure your spark plugs boots are all double clicked on. Make sure all the injector wires are good.

I found out what it is. Like yall said, the blink is for a misfire, but its because of the cam. So its not "really" misfiring, just from the cam. So, no worries for now. Thanks for you input guys

I would get that tuned ASAP. Its flashing, thats never a good thing. I went from a stock cam to a 230/236 and had zero misfiring. Did you read the codes yet? Im going to bet its more then your cam. It should not be misfiring.

blinking (S.E.S) light is a catalyst damage indicator not a missfire light . a class 3 (sever)missfire will cause this because of unburned fuel going through the cat's. but other things can also cause this (defective ect sensor )

sorry to jump in like this hope you find the problem
If speed kill's do brakes give life ?

It may as well be; it's the only condition that causes that behavior.

Problem fixed. Got a tune, no more blinky light. Nic D said that is was blinking because the cam was lobing so hard.

M6. Its AWESOME compared to stock. 387hp/372tq to the wheels. Drives on the street great. makes great power across the board, sounds bad ass. Its no one of those cams that makes all of its power at like 6000 rpms and thats it. I'm glad I went with this cam
